Hi, I am Serena. I am a life coach in training and a ceramist. I spent more than 13 years in the fashion industry before taking a leap and leaving the luxury corporate world in 2024. I still recall the fear and uncertainty I felt before leaving my previous job, which ensured me a steady paycheck. I was however burnt out, felt purposeless, and was unhappy.

Deep down, I knew something was missing. The flame within me was dimming. A mentor introduced me to coaching, and since then, I’ve found clarity in the process. Despite my fears of financial instability and concerns about hindering my career progression, I quit my job, packed my bags, and came to Japan for a year-long pottery apprenticeship. Voila!

I have lived in a few cities: Singapore, where I was born; Dubai; Paris; and Hong Kong. However, I had always dreamed of coming to Japan to explore its crafts and immerse myself in pottery. I’m very honored to have found Wasyugama and to be able to practice my craft there. Wasyugama is a pottery studio that also has an Airbnb. It is my training school, healing space, and a place where possibilities bloom. I am delighted to add Japan to the list of places I can call home.

I created this page to reach people who may have experienced similar situations to mine and who need a space to be heard and find purpose again. I have benefited from coaching and pottery, and I hope they could support in you some ways too. It would be fate that we will connect, and I will be truly grateful for that. I want to share my creations and craft here as well, as they embody my dreams and vision. Truth to be told, they would help to pay my monthly bills too.
